Our Yarns

Pure British Wool

Britain is lucky enough to have more than 60 different breeds of sheep – more than any other country in the world – and it is this wealth of choice which ensures that British Wool from the UK is special. It has all the qualities you would expect from a British product – it is of the highest quality, extremely warm and a flexible material with which to work. 100% British wool can be washed on a cool and gentle cycle and then carefully reshaped to dry naturally.

Pure Merino Wool

This highly valued and prized breed of sheep produces the most wonderful soft and warm wool. Originally bred in Spain, Merino sheep are now found the world over and the wool is used in the creation of many garments including our jumpers. Soft on the skin and easy to look after, 100% Merino wool can be washed on a cool and gentle cycle and dried flat for best results. The Merino’s Sheep are bred at 2000 meters above sea level for best results and creation of fibres, which is then spun into a lovely soft yarn for knitting in all Paul James Merino Knitwear.

Merino Lambswool

We blend together the highest quality Lambswool with Merino wool to create a super soft and durable yarn with which to knit our jumpers. Ideal for wearing close to your skin due to its extreme softness and for providing extra warmth in the winter months, Merino Lambswool offers a quality fibre blend which can be carefully washed on a gentle and cool cycle and dried naturally.
